Software Technologies Consideration for E-Commerce: A Case Study Of Modenas, Malaysia

The practice of E-Commerce has been demonstrated since 1965 when consumers were allowed to withdraw their money from Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and use credit cards at point of sale terminals for purchasing purposes. E-Commerce is a general term for the conduct of business with the assistance of telecommunications infrastructure, and of tools and services running over that infrastructure. There are several software technologies that can be used for developing ECommerce application such as Active Server Pages (ASP), Java Server Pages (JSP) and ColdFusion. In this paper, we discuss IT infrastructure and software technologies for developing ECommerce applications, and also a case study for E-Commerce in MODENAS.
